Introduction to Decision Intelligence

Be introduced the idea of decision-making being more than just data. Decisions also have social and managerial aspects, which require human interactions supporting Artificial Intelligence.

Decision-Making Processes

Explores the four decision-making styles of Rowe and Boulgaride’s Decision Style Theory, along two continuums of cognitive complexity and value orientation, with practice exercises included.

Ethical Decision-Making

Deep dives into the value side of decision-making, using an intriguing dilemma to understand Josephson’s Six Pillars of Character, which act as the basis of ethically defensible decisions. The difference between ethics and values is investigated.

AI and Data-Driven Decision-Making

Explores data-driven decision-making using four analytical practices that support AI, highlighting the strengths and limitations of relying solely on AI analytical thinking for decisions.

Critically Thinking About Decision-Making

This final course uses a case study to apply prior learning, showing how mixed methods adapt to decision-making. It emphasizes reducing impact-risk and using Birkman reports to develop decision intelligence.

Target Audience

This certificate is intended for collegiate students and young professionals with an interest in becoming a proficient decision-maker.

Eligibility/Prerequisites

To participate in this certificate, individuals must be an initiated member of Alpha Kappa Psi. There are no additional educational prerequisites.

Assessments Included

To demonstrate learning and be awarded the certificate, individuals will complete ungraded formative knowledge checks throughout each course, as well as a scored cumulative examination as part of the final reflection course.

He also has a Masters in Data Analytics that he has used to implement analytics efforts for training-related data to aid in curriculum development, course evaluation, and leadership decision-making and strategic planning.

Cindy is a Managing Partner of Callahan & Rose Consulting, which is all about helping individuals, teams, and organizations become their “best selves” as they navigate change and chart their careers. Cindy invests in people to deliver creative results. Her strength is fostering collaboration and coaching individuals and teams to be high performing. Cindy has a Masters in Organizational Leadership, and focuses on helping individuals and teams in business apply the theories of Leadership in practical ways that enhance their teams and their organization. Cindy also facilitates organizations to gain value through large scale change and innovation. Some of the ways Cindy has done this is by helping Ford navigate global change, managing the Navy and Marine Corp upgrade of 450,000 users to new laptops with new software capabilities, and working with the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity to focus their members on acquiring principled business skills.
